FEMINIST ISSUES N.O.W. is a radio program broadcast from 7:30 to 8:00a.m. every Sunday morning on WMMS and from 12:30 to 1:00 a.m. every Friday on WZAK. Ideas are welcome. Contact Julie Patterson at 581-8281 with advertising suggestions.

On Friday, January 16, at 8:00 p.m., a report of the World Parliament of the Peoples for Peace will be given by Anna Fritz, social worker, leacher at CWRU SASS, Chair of the National Peace Committee of NASW, and by Akida Sababu, labor organizer of the Ohio Civil Service Employees Association and Chairman of the Cleveland Branch of the National Alliance Against Racism and Political Oppression. Cleveland Heights-Univeristy Heights Main Library, 2345 Lee Road. Both women were delegates to the Parliament held in September, 1980 in Sophia, Bulgaria, where 2,260 participants representing 137 countries gathered to share their concerns and ideas for world peace.

The Grassroots Female Leadership Coalition invites all women to meet the 2nd Tuesday and the 4th Saturday of each month from 9-11 a.m. at McDonald's Restaurant (downstairs lunchroom), 3050 Carnegie Avenue, Cleveland. We are concerned with reaching grassroots women in the community as well as encouraging those interested to take on leadership roles in order to tackle domestic, economic, and political problems which all women, particularly minority women, face. A series of career clinics will be held at the South Euclid Library, 4645 Mayfield Road. The first, a Career Decisions Workshop, will convene on Wednesdays. January 14. 21 and 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. The workshop's purpose is to help an individual focus her unique characteristics toward a career choice. To promote the exchange of ideas and experience, it will be held in a group setting, but much of the time will be spent on individual activity. The workshop is geared for those thinking of career entry or change.

A Job Finding Skills Workshop will be held on Wednesdays, February 4, 11, and 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. Held in a group setting, this workshop is designed to assist individuals in developing skills used in a job search. including resume writing and interview techniques. It is intended for persons with some job direction already determined.

The series will conclude with a Resume Clinic Wednesday, March 4, from 2:30 to 9:00 p.m. This will consist of individual sessions, one-onone, with trained staff helping the job seeker prepare a resume.

Feminist Mothers Support Group is a new group forming to provide a supportive environment for mothers to meet and explore pertinent issues. We will share our experiences and feelings as mothers. Mothers are oppressed socially, economically and emotionally. We need to communicate with each other in order to articulate our mutual concerns and fight the isolation many mothers feel. We will discuss such issues as daycare, child-rearing, isolation, careers and much more. Our first meeting will be February 8 at 7:00 p.m. For details, call 692-3068 or 531-9459.

The Community Teach-in Groups plans to bring the eminent scholar and Speaker Eqbal Ahmed, fellow of the Institute for Policy Studies, to Cleveland the weekend of February 6 and 7 to speak on U.S. militarism around the world. Friday night's program and reception will be at 8:00 p.m. at CSU's Law School Moot Court Room (E. 18th and Euclid). On Saturday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., a program on the domestic consequences of our militarist policies will take place in rooms at CSU to be announced. Staughton Lynd, labor lawyer and former history professor from Yale University, will open the session, followed by two-hour workshops on "Political Repression and the Attack on Civil Liberties, **Civil Rights in Jeopardy: The Racist Threat," "The Attack on Women, "The Attack on Labor," and "The Domestic Costs of U.S. Militarism" The purpose of the workshops is to define the challenges we face and develop strategies to overcome them.

The Community Teach-in Groups is a coalition of Clergy and Laity Con-. cerned, the New American Movement and Women Speak Out. Other groups are invited to join the coalition.

On Sunday, January 18, cross-country skiing will begin at 9:00 a.m. at River Road Camp. 3000 River Road, in North Chagrin Metropark. Rentals are available at an hourly rate of $3. or $9 for the day. For those who enjoy the less strenuous, a brunch will be held at 10:30. Meet at the Strawberry Lane Shelter House. Please bring a dish to share. utensils and a thermos of something hot to drink. The FREE CLINIC is offering individual and group counseling for victims of incest on Tuesday evenings between 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. To make an appointment, call 721-4010 and say you want an appointment with Joyce Spencer or Jan Felixson. There are no tees or eligibility requirements at the Free Clinic (12201 Euclid Avenue).

Women Together has started a Battered Women's Support Group which it is hoped will grow into support groups for women who are still living in a battering situation as well as providing continuing support for those who have begun to rebuild their lives. More information is available from Ann Hunter, Program Manager, at 431-6267. Here is an opportunity for volunteers as well.

The Volunteer Projects component of Women Together inc. is conducting an on-going volunteer recruitment campaign to better serve battered women. Women Together needs volunteers in the areas of childcare, crisis-line phone service, support group facilitation, direct service counseling, and public speaking. Requirements are that volunteers be sensitive to the needs of women, particularly battered women. Experience is helpful, but not mandatory. We offer training in each area of service. Interested volunteers may call Fay Grinage at Women Together, 431-6267. Office hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

If you are a woman with a problem and don't know where to turn, WomenSpace's Help Line, 696-3100, may be able to put you in touch with helpful community resources. The Help Line's hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday. Women who call for assistance are provided with information and referrals by a staff of trained women specialists who can assess the caller's needs and refer her to vocational/career resources, social service agencies, physicians, therapists, attorneys and self-help groups. The staff regularly researches and updates a resource bank to insure that current information is available.

DIGNITY, an organization for Catholic and other Christian gay women and men, welcomes new members. Sponsors for approximately 600 lesbian and gay Cuban refugees are stil! needed, the National Gay Task Force and the Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches said today. While thousands of lesblan and gay Cubans have already been placed in sponsors' homes, more remain at the Resettlement Camp at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. Continued support is needed for those refugees already placed including jobs, clothing, money and legal services.
